Episode Synopsis

In this episode, Robert sits down with Janet Wiszowaty — a retired Telecommunications Operator in the Operational Communications Centre for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) — whose three-decade career in law enforcement took her across Canada. Introduced through their mutual friend Jack Canfield, Robert and Janet discuss their shared values and the journey that brought them together for this conversation. Janet opens up about the health challenges she has faced, including her diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in 2003. Since the diagnosis, Janet has made it her mission to transcend the trauma through therapy and education.  As a contributing author of a powerful compilation of narratives by first responders called Wounds to Wisdom, Janet has found that by sharing her story and facilitating workshops and group sessions, she not only continues to move forward but is able to share tools with those she works with so that they are able to support themselves. They also dive into Janet’s book, The Year the World Paused: Stories of Inspiration and Transformation, which captures experiences from the COVID-19 pandemic, and explore a powerful exercise she teaches — writing your own eulogy — to create clarity and purpose in life. Janet is the Chief Connector and Visionary of Worldly Connektions, a life coach/mentor, a certified Canfield Success Principles Trainer, a published author, and an international speaker who shared her story at the United Nations in 2017 which can be watched on YouTube. Don’t miss this insightful conversation filled with resilience, wisdom, and inspiration.
