Diane Abbott made history as Britain’s first black woman MP. Her memoir, ‘A woman like me’ provides an insight into her childhood and her political career. As a child of the Windrush generation, she experienced racism from a very early age. She defied the odds by studying history at Cambridge University before she embarked on her political career. This episode is about celebrating Diane Abbott as a true trailblazer, as well as also highlighting the controversies that she’s been involved in. But despite all of the adversities that she’s had to endure, she continues to rise above! A true inspiration!
