As a quick review, this sermon series has discussed our need for fulfillment, approval, dealing with moral failure, and the impotence of the Law in contrast to the power of the Gospel.

This week we take up the subject of despair. Despair can be defined as “lacking imagination to see a way through the current circumstance.” God calls us to trust (have faith in) the Son for the unimaginable.

Our text, Genesis 22, is referenced by a quotation in Galatians 3:6, reminding the people that Abraham “Believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.”
