Listen "Fear Must Fall"

Episode Synopsis

I Samuel 17:4-11

1. Fear comes from our conditioning.

What the wicked dread will overtake them…
Proverbs 10:24

2. Fear comes from concealing.

3. Fear comes from controlling.

1. We remind ourselves that God is able.

Why do you worry about what you’ll eat? Why do you worry about what you’ll wear? Why do you worry about your clothes? Don’t you know that your father in heaven knows what you need? He’s clothed the lilies of the field in all their beauty. Not a bird falls from the sky without his knowledge. He gives to everything on this earth what they have. Surely he, your father, will give you what you need. For who of you by worrying can add one inch of comfort to your life? Your father will give you what you need because he is able.
Matthew 6:25-34

2. We set the Lord always before us.

I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Psalm 16:8

3. We name what’s keeping us up at night.

O Lord, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
Many are saying of my soul,
“There is no salvation for him in God.”
But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I cried aloud to the Lord,
And he answered me from his holy hill.
I lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.
Psalm 3:1-5

4. We fill our mouths with praise.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.
Psalm 16:9
