Listen "The Know Show – the end of an era"
Episode Synopsis
We started The Know Show in August 2021 and who knew we’d still be going after all this time? But we have kept going, because understanding the complexity of the times we’re living through is important, so we can work out how to move forward. With that said, one of us is moving on, and that is Tim Wade, who’s embarking on some very important work, and this week, we say goodbye to our colleague and dear friend. We might also have a rebrand to announce. Stay tuned. Of course, we’ll discuss the news too and there is a lot to discuss, from TACO Man to global heating predictions for the next five years. That’s just the start. We also have Musk out and his rockets exploding, a massive glacier has collapsed in the Swiss Alps, the oceans are getting darker, Hegseth is at it again, and we watch the devastating impact of the war on Gaza, with babies and children dying from famine - even Germany has had enough. When will it end?The cost of the recent floods in Australia is starting to be understood, with hundreds of properties deemed uninhabitable and the event declared an “Insurance Catastrophe,” as many of those impacted are also still recovering from ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. King Charles was in Canada, European farmers are calling the alarm on crop failures, the 2025 Hurricane Season is predicted to be above normal, and allies have lifted restrictions on the use of long-range weapons for Ukraine, as further reports detail a million Russians have died so far in the war. We know, it’s intense and there is always a lot to take on board, which is why we are committed to doing this show, to help you make sense of all the noise, and sometimes, just by being together every week helps us make sense of it too. So come and join us for Tim Wade’s last show, Friday 30th May, 8am UK, 9am EU, 2pm TH, 3pm SG, 5pm AEST.The Know Show is a Livestream held every fortnight on Friday, where Andrea T Edwards, Tim Wade and Joe Augustin, and at least one special guest, review the news that’s getting everyone’s attention, as well as perhaps what requires our attention. We’ll talk about what it means to us, the world and we hope to inspire great conversations on the news that matters in the world today. The Know Show is based on Andrea T Edwards Weekend Reads, which are published every Saturday on andreatedwards.com, and covers the planetary crisis, topical moments in the world, global politics and war, business and technology, social issues, and passion/humour/history.
