Text Matt & Adam!Oscar fails month with 1999 Best Picture winner "Shakespeare in Love" (1998). Comedies generally don't win the Oscar's top prize, and this one was just okay. "Life is Beautiful" (1998) is the story of a man who tries to shield his son from the fact they are in a concentration camp. Roberto Benigni won Best Actor pretty much playing Roberto Benigni. After a slow first half, the film got better when they finally get to the camp. Next up: Best Director 2009.
