Episode Synopsis

What American Rockband in the 1970s famously exclaimed, the hypnotizing And seemingly nonsensical opening line: “Jeremiah was a Bullfrog”!Have you Ever wondered why the”Bully Pulpit” is called the “Bully Pulpit”? This is part 1 of a 2 part episode addressing Jeremiads and Hypnotic language patterns which influence generations X, Y, & Z in political speeches of the 21st century thus far.Regardless of your affiliation, everyone appreciates historical facts and origins of concepts right? What is so hypnotic about the way your favorite speaker or candidate(s) transforms into a non-stop sledgehammer….pounding away at the stones on your hearts walls like Reagan the day he cried out “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall”! Or perhaps you didn’t hear any speeches until the”Audacity of Hope” reign during the “Yes We Can” days? How’d the speakers get a nation to mobilize and vote to make a “change”? Is it possible that they went back to the Holy Bible’s most well known campaigner and pulled out the prophetic template and politicized it, wrapped it between hypnotic language patterns, and served it to you like a “Hot n Ready”! Pizza?Did all the speech writers channel the prophet Jeremiah!?A jeremiad is a speech or literary work that expresses a bitter lament or a righteous prophecy of doom. The term originates from the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah, who authored the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations. Here are the key points:Structure of a Jeremiad: Biblical or Spiritual Teaching: It refers to a foundational teaching or ideal (e.g., the American Dream).Community’s Failure: It highlights how the community has fallen short of living up to that teaching.Idealistic Vision: It suggests an ideal place the community could reach through repentance and reform12Examples:An elegantly written book that criticizes the current government could be considered a jeremiad.Imagine an editor’s note filled with complaints about censorship and wrongdoing—such a rambling critique would also qualify as a jeremiad. In political discourse, dire warnings about a nation’s future due to dissolute habits, unsound policy, and recklessness among the people can be seen as jeremiads.Remember, jeremiads aren’t limited to religious contexts; they can address societal issues and moral decline as well.Scroll down to the bottom and leave a comment, a review and above all share the links to this podcast.Thank you for Listening !#clinicalhypnosis #trucetalkhypnosis #aviophobia #fear #fearofflying #trucetalkhypnosis #sleep #sleepnow #rapidinduction #trucetalk #MentalHealth #TraumaRecovery #ClinicalHypnotherapy #Telehealth #VirtualTherapy #MindBodyWellness #AnxietyRelief #EmotionalHealing #StressRelief #ZoomTherapy #DigitalWellness #OnlineTherapy #aviophobia #fearofflying #coupleshypnotherapyAlways include a disclaimer: “Services are educational and non-therapeutic.
