Episode Synopsis

Founded in 1996, the Black Country Music Association (BCMA)'s goal was to bring more blacks into Nashville's musical scene. However, their reputation was marred by not only competition from the CMA and ACM but also tensions with Mike Johnson, country's No. 1 African-American yodeler. By 2002, the BCMA had dissolved.
