Episode Synopsis

Send us a textHappy Reformation! As we celebrate this event in history, we need to look at the WHY, because it's easy to see the controversy it caused, the division, and not see the good that came from it. We do not celebrate the controversy or Luther himself, but JESUS. In John 8, Jesus is talking to people who already believed in him. Why do they get upset with him when he promises them freedom? They know he is talking about spiritual freedom, and they believe they already have that, just because they are Abraham's descendants! They are taking credit for their freedom, when it is not anything we do or who we are related to that give us spiritual freedom, but Jesus, who came to make us sons and daughters of God! Thank you, Jesus, for freeing us from spiritual destruction and giving us eternal life in heaven with you! We hope you tune in again next week. How can you say that we shall be set free?”34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
