A MUST LISTEN FOR AUSTRALIAN ANIMAL LOVERS. If you're like me, you would assume that animal welfare laws in Australia are a high standard. We're one of the most developed countries in the world, so surely we would have a good grasp on animal rights legislation?Unfortunately, the opposite is true - our system is failing them.  Australia's standards are getting worse - scoring a 'D' (previously 'C') on the World Animal Protection Index in 2020, placing us behind New Zealand, Mexico and Malaysia’s ‘C' ratings and the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Switzerland's ratings of ‘B’. This week's guest is Emma Hurst MP; vegan, an animal advocate, and a member of the Animal Justice Party, representing animal rights in NSW Parliament.
