Listen "2. Changing the Conversation Around Obesity"
Episode Synopsis
Episode Synopsis: It’s time to change the conversation around obesity and behavior change. What we’re doing isn’t working. Patients often feel invisible and providers are frustrated. Why is that? In this episode, I talk with Nkechi Onyegasi, a DNP who works with patients with obesity. We take a deep dive into how we are approaching this complex issue from both the patient and the provider perspectives and what changes we can make moving forward. After Thoughts: This is a very personal episode for me. I have struggled with weight my entire life and I can tell you, it’s not an easy journey. Society can be cruel and navigating the healthcare system has its own challenges. I loved some of the suggestions that Nkechi made for both the patients and providers’ perspective. They would go a long way in changing the national conversation.
