How do we promote responsible use of technology? And how do we make sure that everyone has equal and equitable access to it? Webby Awards President Claire Graves explored this and the responsibilities we have to each other as we use technology at the It’s Up To Us: A Responsible Tech Future panel. Panelists were two experts in responsible technology: Michele Lawrence Jawando of Omidyar Network and Dr. Fallon Wilson of #BlackTechFutures Research Institute. Jawando and Dr. Fallon had a critical discussion on the current state of technology–especially in relation to its accessibility and how it can be used responsibly–as well as what we can do to use technology to shape our future into one that’s equitable.
