There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Paul who only moments before cried out, "O wretched man that I am, who will deliver me?"Paul had exerted every ounce of energy that he had to live a godly life in Christ Jesus. Yet he, like all of us, failed with impeccable consistency.  He was completely bewildered, troubled and distressed at the fact that he had absolutely no power whatsoever to live a godly life in Christ Jesus.What a relief to come to the end of yourself and realize that Jesus and Jesus alone will indeed deliver us from all our futile efforts to accomplish sanctification in our own power.
