Listen "The Silent Pandemic: Suicide in Social Housing"
Episode Synopsis
The #SocialHousing and #Construction industry has a suicide rate three times higher than the national average.
The UK has the highest suicide rates in Western Europe, with more than 7,000 lives lost a year at an average age of 40. And over 7 million people work in Construction alone.
This week's episode of The Social Housing Round Table is one which is brought to us by Shirley Heapy and Paul Bridge of The Clive Smith Foundation and must be spoken about.
I've said for a long time that our discussion forum is one that will talk about, rather than around, the difficult topics our sector faces, and this is no different.
Paul Bridge calls this The Silent Pandemic, and I'm inclined to agree. Join us to discuss why and what needs to change.
