Chase Tryan—known as Hock by his fellow competitors—will heel at his third Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December 2019 for Finals first timer Brenten Hall. This year, they won the Washington State Fair and ProRodeo in Puyallup, the Leduc Black Gold ProRodeo in Alberta and the IPE and Stampede in Armstrong, British Columbia. Last year, Chase placed ninth in the NFR average, heeling behind Bubba Buckaloo and finished sixth in the PRCA world standings with almost $175,000 in season earnings.Chase’s story isn’t typical. After a truck accident early in his career, he spent months in recovery, saved by what he can only describe as the grace of God. The only Tryan known for his heeling, Chase spent years evolving his roping after his first Finals qualification.
