Listen "Radiate Confidence with Janet Elie"
Episode Synopsis
In 1996, instead of apologizing for not having a college education, Janet told her prospective employer that if they wanted to hire her to run their department, a college degree had to be a moot point. That brave statement was made after having walked hot coals at a Tony Robbins event. Never again would Janet, a single mom of two boys, apologize for not having that piece of paper. Instead she would rely on her industry skills as well as marketing and relationship skills supported by her common sense and intuition. This allowed Janet to successfully develop and manage projects and departments and coach others. Her career blasted off based on her merits—not academia.
After more than 30 years of climbing the rungs of the financial services industry ladder, Janet reached the stage where she wanted more—a different path to fuel her passion. She was frustrated that after years of putting her nose to the grind stone, the things she wanted to explore had taken a backseat. They required freedom. Janet wanted to be able to go on a day hike and leave the phone at home. Remarried, she wanted to sit in the garden with her husband and sip a glass of wine and relax. She wanted to travel and experience other cultures and not have a deadline to return home. It required leaving corporate life to start her own business.
Now as a marketing coach & consultant, Janet has the life she imagined. For more information about the company Janet formed with her sister, visit Launch4Life.com.
