In this episode we share a comeback story unlike any other we’ve discussed on this show. Well, to call it a comeback is to do a disservice to the journey that our guest has been on. On February 16th of this year, FCA Endurance Teammate, father of nine, and a husband to one for 34 years, and age group All American Bill Deaton hopped on his bike for another training ride. But it wasn’t just another training ride. Bill had planned to ride 25 miles - something he had done hundreds of times before, in his attempt to once again podium at the next race in his age group.  But this ride did not end well for Bill - no, far from it. The story I’m about to share is one that every cyclist dreads - and unfortunately, one that happens far too often. Maybe it happened to someone you know. Maybe it happened to you. It reminds me of the old saying: That there are two kinds of cyclists, those who have crashed, and those who will. And of those who will, the worst scenario generally involves a car, with getting hit by a truck being at the height of the severity scale. Yet that is exactly what happened to Bill. It is his prayer and hope that his story glorifies God and encourages you.
