This week, we have an episode of The Adventures of Philip Marlowe, The Face to Forget. It first aired on June 14, 1950, over CBS. Gerald Mohr stars as Marlowe.
The series ran from 1948-1950 on CBS. An earlier version, starring Van Heflin, aired as a summer replacement in 1947 on NBC.
Philip Marlowe, of course, was the creation of pulp legend Raymond Chandler. Marlowe was introduced in the 1939 novel The Big Sleep, although Chandler would use many of his earlier Black Mask short stories as source materials for his later Marlowe books.
