After I could no longer skate, I found a mentor who helped educate me on Finance and Entrepreneurship [01:30]
Moving away from advertising other people’s brands to creating my own [03:10]
Be clear on what you want to do, and do that [04:00]
I spend 100% of my time building my brand and 0% time monetizing it, especially in the beginning [05:00]
There are 2 reasons why people are following you. Because you are entertaining or you are adding value to them [05:35]
Participate on every platform, but focus your energy on platforms that are growing [06:00]
If you are monetizing, make sure it fits what you are doing and you actually care about it [07:15
If you are doing it for the dollar grab, your audience is going to catch on and you’re going to lose them [08:03]
The difference between B2C and B2B marketing [08:30]
There are two ways to go about things, either we educate ourselves and we do it or we hire the education [10:20]
Commune Capital was created to help educate my skating community in fiances and then it grew from there [12:20]
It organically expanded to surfers, snowboarders, golfers, football players, and entrepreneurs [13:00]
We educate people to empower them to succeed financially on their own [13:50]
All our content is free on every platform [14:15]
When reaching out to a brand, do the research, and customize your message when you DM them [16:30]
When looking for a mentor, offer something of value for free [18:15]
It’s better to ask more questions than not and it will pay off in the long run big time [19:45]
