Listen "The Economy, Stamp Prices, and Detroit Adding a New Area Code"
Episode Synopsis
The Federal Reserve is considering milder interest rate increases in February as a way to cool inflation while avoiding an economic recession. The US Postal Service has also announced that due to inflation, stamp prices are increasing, with the price of a first-class forever stamp going from 60 cents to 63 cents. The price of international letters and postcards will also increase, and domestic postcards will go from 45 cents to 48 cents. Additionally, the Michigan Public Service Commission is considering adding a new area code, 679, to Metro Detroit as the current 313 area code is running low and predicted to be entirely used up by the end of 2025.
