Listen "1:Success Doesn’t Come To You-You Go Get It"
Episode Synopsis
Episode #1 Success doesn't come to you. You go get it!
When I think of Frances Du Toit of Banana Bakery I can't help but smile. I met her at Cookie Con 2017 and she has left a forever happy place in my heart.
Maybe I should start from the beginning. Every time I go to Cookie Con I make new friends and sometimes, they introduce me to some of their sweet friends. Well, that is how I met Frances Fu Toit and I'm glad I did. My friend Diane from Mama Mayer Bakery brought Barbara Poirrier from Cajun Home Sweets, Amanda Morris from Semi Sweet Confections and Frances Du Toit to breakfast with her.
As my husband and I sat there enjoying 'cookie company' I decided to ask everyone how they got started decorating cookies. When Frances spoke, I sat there with my jaw on the floor. She started telling us her story and we all were completely amazed, speechless, and inspired. Even my husband, who doesn't even eat sugar cookies, was listening to every word Frances had to say.
I won't tell you any thing else because I think you'll like it a lot better if you listen to the podcast. You're gonna learn how nothing could stop Frances from her success. If her story doesn't inspire you the way it did me I'll be shocked!
Before we did this interview, I sent Frances a little questionnaire. I asked if she had any advice or tips she'd like to share and here is what she said:
"What works for someone else may not work for you. The best way to learn is to experiment and to practice, practice, practice!"
Franceses never give up attitude is contagious. After listening to this podcast I feel as if I can do anything and achieve success. Hard work, practice, and knowing nothing can stop us is something we all need to practice so we can achieve our dreams. She's the perfect example.

Be sure to visit Frances at the links below and show her some love. Anyone who takes a 45-minute ferry ride with a backpack and a rolling suit case to purchase baking supplies is definitely my inspiration.
