Continuous learning is critical because it enables an individual to overcome the challenges of everyday life. Learning can occur in a number of ways: experience, observation, reading, schooling, etc. The MCDP 7 describes how to create an environment that promotes and encourages learning individually and collectively.

The methods an individual utilizes to learn is subjective. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the individual to determine how they can be the most effective learner, and to encourage their peers to do the same. Directly and indirectly we are leaders. Therefore, it is the individual's responsibility to set the example.

This is not necessarily a document about the Marines. This is a document about how to recognize and reach your potential as a learner and to succeed in life.
