Listen "Buddy Stark ~ Scanning The May Night Skies"
Episode Synopsis
May 5, 2025 ~ Lucy Ann Lance talks with Buddy Stark, Planetarium Manager, University of Michigan Museum of Natural History to scan the May Night Skies! Buddy discusses the Eta Aquarids meteor shower, best viewed in the early morning, and Mars’ proximity to the Beehive Cluster, visible after sunset. He explains the science behind these celestial events, like how meteor showers originate from comets and the optical illusion that makes the moon appear larger near the horizon. Stark also discusses the discovery of a potential biosignature on an exoplanet and promotes the planetarium’s new T-Rex movie debuting in July. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
