Listen "Successfully Getting off The Tools with Sam from Selby Landscapes"
Episode Synopsis
In this week’s podcast episode I am joined by Sam Selby, the owner of Selby Landscapes who has recently managed to get off the tools and I discuss with him his landscaping journey.
Sam is one of my TLC VIP clients and has run his business for over 12 years and has now successfully managed to come off the tools and stay off the tools in his design and landscaping business.
An important factor of Sam being able to come off the tools was employing the right people. Dulcie his wife joined him around 2 years ago to help with all the admin tasks and another Sam who works for Selby Landscapes takes n the role of estimating projects.
Now with Sam being off the tools he is able to be a project manager, reassuring the client throughout the process and keeping control of the quality of projects. Having more time available has meant that Sam has been able to focus more on improving the marketing elements of his business such as the website and how he can improve the Selby service to clients.
I asked Sam: ‘How important is your mindset?’
Sam believes you should believe in yourself and enjoy your job! Staying positive to balance work and normal life is also key.
