Doctor Zac Schneider sits down to talk to me about baseball memories and growing by being willing to leave your comfort zone. In this episode of The Journey of my Mother's Son podcast, I sit down and talk with another one of my former players, Zac Schneider. Sandy and I were blessed to spend a few days with Zac and his dog, Baby Girl at his house just outside of Atlanta, GA.  Zac first started playing for the Berkshire organization as a junior in high school in 2000.  I was fortunate to coach him on our Quad-County Optimist team throughout his college years and beyond.  Like my last guest, Kyle Stover, he was part of three championship teams while he played for me, in 2003, 2006 and 2007. So much more than the championships that we won together, we remember the bonds and friendships that have been built off the field.  Every player that I ever coached holds a very special place in my heart.  Using this time that Sandy and I have on our journey to reconnect with some of them has meant more to me than words could ever express.  Anyone who has ever coached a sport will understand exactly what I mean when I say that. Zac is now a Doctor of Education in Higher Education and we talk about two difficult decisions that he had to make in life that involved leaving his comfort zone in order to achieve his own greater growth. The first, was eight years ago as he made the difficult decision to leave his friends and family in Pennsylvania and move to Atlanta to take a new job. The second was just recently when he decided to leave his position at Georgia State University to take a new opportunity with StudentBridge as a Business Development Representative. Zac talks about how both of those decisions were difficult and forced him to leave his comfort zone, but also allowed him to grow both individually and professionally.
