Welcome to The Journey Home- a podcast series aiming to share stories from homeland to home.
My name is Caitlin Goldthorpe and I’ll be your host.
Each week I will be taking you on the journey home exploring immigration stories through the lens of some incredible individuals who have settled in Australia from all corners of the globe.
In each story we learn of a different journey, a different set of circumstances and a different homeland. The Journey Home aims at examining the human condition to understand how experiences change and dictate individual’s decisions and expectations of how they thought their life would turn out. Through these journeys, each individual has found their identity through challenges and decisions involved with migrating to Australia and leaving their homeland and together we reflect on their unique stories to understand the motivations behind each move. Each episode of the The Journey Home podcast will focus on the contrast between the challenges individuals face when coming to a foreign country, the changes they have experienced and where they are now in life.
In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connections to land, sea and community. I pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
