Matthew 19.1-15



What is the standard for Christian marriage? Since Jesus was never married, how can Jesus be the example? Jesus taught a radical way of forgiveness and reconciliation meant to cover and forgive sin. There was no sin that he could not forgive. Yet there were many who did not follow him or his way, and others who rejected him. The standard for marriage is the same standard God intended from the beginning, to be a people who reconcile rather than divorce, and yet the intent of God is not always the reality of men. Still God holds out the invitation to forgive and to reconcile in the same way.
