Episode Synopsis "How Good is Your Lifetime Performance?"
In 2015, Australian Wool Innovation and the Australian Merino Sire Evaluation Association teamed up to create the Merino Lifetime Productivity (MLP) project. Spanning 10 years and five sites across Australia, this is the largest sheep experiment in the country. It is designed to capture the lifetime performance of Merino ewes to help better understand how current selection methods best predict lifetime productivity. In this episode of The Drafting Gate, Dr Bronwyn Clarke, site manager of MLP Pingelly in Western Australia, discusses some of the unique findings to come from MLP. You can read the Pingelly MLP drop results here and see Bronwyn's previous presentations on The Sheep's Back website. Have any feedback or stories for The Drafting Gate?
