We all want to feel safe, from disease, from pain, from irrelevance, from loss. So we create our own world inside the real world. A world with certain rules. A world that says, if we treat others well, good things will happen. Or a world that says, If we make a lot of money, we will feel important and other people will respect us. 
 
We establish this world to protect ourselves from the real world, from all of the fears that we do not wish to face. Yet we cannot protect ourselves from reality, we cannot escape what is. Our attempts to do so create anxiety and blunt our experience of life. Learn to face your fears, to accept what is, to break down the walls in your mind. And discover what it means to actually live.
