Listen "Silence in a Year Day 74 Fury of Senseless Noise"

Episode Synopsis

Today I hear Cardinal Sarah say that our world if full of noise, night and day is a constant stream of noise and there is no getting away from it. This constant noise can lead to false sense of tranquility. It is like having a one-way conversation with the world, It is talking to you and you have no way of getting a word in edge wise.I have had a one-way conversation with Jesus several occasions, many more than I care to admit. It has happened with I am not happy with something in my life, and I am Telling Jesus how upset I am. A one-way conversation is not prayer, prayers is a two-way conversation.Have you ever had a one-way conversation with someone? How did it turn out?I have, I said what I needed to say, then I walked away. After some time of reflection, I would think to myself, well that did not solve my problem or answer my question, what a waste of time. Well, what did I expect, I was not listening. This reminds me of a recent experience I had at the grocery store. I had my ear buds in my ears and a lady was speaking to me, but I could not hear her. She tapped me on the shoulder and said, “excuse me, did you hear me?” boy, I sure was embarrassed, she was asking for help to get an item from a shelf too high for her to reach.Does this happen when God is talking to us? I can often become deaf to what God is trying to tell me because I allow the noise of the world to distract me. I need to remember to remove my ear buds and listen to his call.Take away: Is your prayer live a monologue or a dialog?
