Hill, with the city since 2003, previously served as deputy director and brings extensive experience in venue management, business operations, and budget planning. She holds certifications in equine center management and tourism marketing and is a graduate of Leadership Rockdale. City Manager Kameron Kelley praised Hill’s enthusiasm and expertise, confident in her ability to lead the 1,400-acre facility to continued success.  STORY 2:     Back to Back Drug Arrests in Morgan  After months of investigation, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office made two drug-related arrests. Yolanda Yvette Canteen, 46, of Madison, was charged with trafficking crack cocaine after deputies found four ounces of cocaine in her vehicle and additional drugs at her residence. Georgia law mandates a 10-year minimum sentence for such offenses. Separately, Todd Lawrence Pitts, 38, of Bishop, was arrested for fentanyl possession during a probation search. Authorities had been monitoring Pitts, suspecting him of selling fentanyl, a highly potent and dangerous synthetic opioid. Both suspects remain in custody at the Morgan County Jail.  STORY 3:  Teen wanted in shooting of stepfather; suspect considered armed and dangerous  The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 16-year-old Jayden Daniel, wanted for the fatal shooting of his stepfather, David Gay, 41, at Gay’s home on Avery Drive in Covington. The incident occurred Tuesday evening, and Daniel fled in Gay’s 2016 Cadillac Escalade, later found abandoned at Denny Dobbs Park. Daniel is considered armed and dangerous, and arrest warrants have been issued. Authorities urge anyone with information to call 911 and avoid approaching him.  We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. The campaign emphasizes seat belt use to save lives, with law enforcement taking a zero-tolerance approach to violations, especially at night when seat belt use drops. In 2023, 8.1% of drivers and passengers didn’t buckle up, putting lives at risk. Sheriff Brown urges everyone to prioritize safety, reminding loved ones to wear seat belts every time.
