In order to encourage the next generation to use their talents for God’s glory, we have founded The Carter Legacy Scholarship. Our goal is to award this scholarship to high school seniors to assist with college expenses. This week is a very special episode as we chat with Brooke Visser and Abbey Rodriguez, the 2021-22 Carter Legacy Scholarship Recipients about faith, their God-given talents, and spiritual gifts, as well as their college plans. Brooke Visser is a very accomplished scholar and Christian athlete. She graduated with honors from Fairview High School, TN, where she took Honors and AP classes. She will be attending Carson Newman College (TN) in the Fall on a track scholarship. Brooke is a three-sport varsity athlete, lettering in tennis, basketball, and track. She medaled this year at the state finals track meet in the 4 X 400 relay race. Brooke participated in HOSA, Beta Club, and NAHS as well. Brooke plans to study for 6 years to be a nurse anesthetist. Brooke attends First Baptist Church and already has plans to start a Bible study on her college campus.Abbey Rodriguez is a bright engaging leader and student scholar. She served as President of Model U.N. her senior year as well as carrying 30 credit hours in dual enrollment courses. She graduated with honors from Red Mountain High School, in Mesa, AZ, where she took Honors and AP classes. She will be attending Whitman College in Spokane, WA. Abbey taught 1st- 3rd graders in the children's ministry department at Central Christian Church in Mesa, AZ, throughout her high school years, While she plans to major in elementary education and hopes to teach 3rd or 4th grade, she will also have a minor in theology and another minor in biology.Project Brickworks is thrilled to award our inaugural Carter Legacy Scholarships to such fine Christian young ladies.
