Simon Richards, Director and Chief Finance and Sustainability Officer for Birmingham Airport, talks about the airport’s journey to net-zero by 2033 and key role of a new 6.8MW of solar generation installation.Simon describes the role of his regional airport that handles over 13M passengers. He talks about Board leadership, demonstrated through early adoption and transparency of the challenges faced by the airline sector. Their solar array was commissioned to reduce their carbon emissions and cost of energy. It has more than met their expectations and it clearly encourages the airport team to tackle further reductions.
