When we approach the scriptures, all too often we rely on what people have told us about them instead of taking it upon ourselves to hear it correctly. We become beguiled with strange ideas and sensational heresies. If we don’t listen to the scriptures closely, we will not know the scriptures and naturally, we will not know when they are warped and causing us to go astray. When we do this, we cannot be surprised when things go awry and death and destruction come at our doorstep… because God has warned us of this beforehand… He has told us so… whether we listened to his words or not.
