Tehachapi City Council proclaimed February as Safe Surrender baby Awareness Month in Tehachapi. Jana Slagle from the Kern County Department of Human Services joins the TehachaPod crew to talk about the Safe Surrender program and how it works in Kern County. Jana explains why its important to have this disscussion to help let mothers of new born babies that there are programs to help them and their child to safely surrender the child. Anyone can surrender a new born baby within the first 72 hours of birth to any hospital or fire station with no questions asked if they like.
