Depending on your university, there might be a handful of undergraduate student instructors (uGSI). However, at UC Berkeley, not only do hundreds of undergraduate students get the opportunity to teach, but they play a vital role in shaping the CS culture and academic environment. In this episode, Annie, former head uGSI for Berkeley’s largest undergraduate CS course (CS 61A), discusses her teaching experiences. (Fun fact: I had her as a mentor my freshman year!) Annie talks about how she got into teaching, why she spent 6 out of 8 semesters teaching, uGSI responsibilities, and more.
