Listen "Bits and Conversations on AI: Tools, the ElevAtIon Summit and the Road Ahead"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode the Maine Learning Technology Team (MLTI) and Learning Through Technology (LTT) Team continue their discussion on artificial intelligence and its place in the classroom. We will hear from the entire ambassador team on tools we have found useful in our professional and personal lives as well as our thoughts on AI in general with some advice for anyone who is just starting out on their AI journey. Joshua Schmidt interviews Andy Wallace, Technology Director from South Portland Schools and president of METDA (Maine Educational Technology Directors Association) along with Mike Arsenault, Technology Director from Yarmouth Schools and president of ACTEM (Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine), about the upcoming ElevAtIon Summit, which will be held on January 13th at South Portland High School. Amanda Fox, author of “The AI Classroom” will be the featured keynote speaker and attendees will get a complimentary copy of the book. Attendees can also be part of a book study on “The AI Classroom” that will be co-facilitated by Amanda and the MLTI Ambassadors. Spaces are limited to 150, so make sure you go to ACTEM.org and sign up if you would like to attend. The MLTI Team would also like to give a huge shout-out to Tracy Williamson, who was instrumental this week and stepped in for Joshua Schmidt as host along with doing all of her usual magic on editing and producing. We also wanted to remind people about signups for this year's MLTI Student Conferences. We will be hosting two student conferences again this year, one virtual and one in person. The virtual conference will be on March 7th and the in-person conference will be on May 23rd. You can go to www.maine.gov/doe/learning/ltt/conference or contact the team at [email protected] to learn more.
