Talking with T-Bird: Keith and Wes Nale
For everyone who wanted more T-Bird in the Survivor off-season, your wish has been granted as we once again start up the series “Talking with T-Bird.” Each episode, Rob Cesternino (@robcesternino) and Survivor: Africa‘s Teresa “T-Bird” Cooper (@tbirdcooper) will catch up with a former Survivor player and talk about anything and take listener questions. In the forty-fourth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” and in conjunction with Survivor: San Juan del Sur‘s appearance this week on the RHAP All-Time Survivor Season Rankings, Rob and T-Bird’s guests are none other than Keith and Wes Nale.
Rob and T-Bird speak with Keith & Wes Nale, a father-son duo that got their start together on Survivor: San Juan del Sur – Blood vs. Water. On Survivor: San Juan del Sur, the twenty-ninth season, they lost their striker and broke their flint on Day Zero before being split up, where Keith was sent to the blue Hunahpu tribe and Wes was sent to the orange Coyopa tribe. While apart, Keith showed his lack of strategic gameplay while Wes managed to use his charisma to be well-liked and in a big alliance. Once they reunited at the merge, Keith was targeted at the merge but his Immunity challenge victories allowed him to go deep in the game. However, at the infamous “stick to the plan” Tribal Council, Keith spilled the beans on the plan to vote out Jon Misch, and after he and Jon played idols, Wes was blindsided with only two votes on day 26, coming in ninth place. Keith made it all the way to day 38, coming in fourth place. 
Keith ended up returning two seasons later after the fans voted him onto the cast of Survivor: Cambodia – Second Chance, the thirty-first season. He played a similar but more collaborative game this time around, using his easy-going attitude and low-key gameplay to allow him to make it very deep in the game. Ultimately, he was voted out unanimously on day 37, coming in fifth place.
