Mike and I sat down and talked about the year, which was 2020. We discussed what took place for Mike on a creative level, his journey in the travel space and what he has installed for 2021. Mike and I met through a panel we were both involved in at the end of 2020. During that discussion, we spoke about the importance of diverse storytelling within the travel industry. During our one-to-one talk, we went in-depth about where Mike's love for travel came from and what led him to form 'Travel with Meaning.' Living in Los Angeles, Mike was in the entertainment industry as a talent agent representing many different people in the sector. Mike came to a crossroads and realised that he wanted to get away from the industry, and so he did. In his own words, he went on a walkabout and travelled to Australia to find his meaning in life. Since then, he hasn't looked back.  We went into detail about the mindset Mike now has, and he believes that travel will have an impact on everyone's lives and careers in some way, shape or form. He had that curiosity, and his passion for travelling, storytelling and community building led him to launch, Travel With Meaning in 2017. He talks to me about the fact that creating Travel Talk Live was a way to bring like-minded travellers to recreate the feelings that he experienced on the road. From these talks, his idea is to build an authentic community to inspire and encourage others to travel. In the spring of 2019, he launched the Travel With Meaning Podcast to continue to grow his community. Mike also spoke to me about what’s installed for 2021. In general, he said most people would be aiming to break out as they would have been exhausted from just being stuck at home. We also spoke about some of his memorable experiences and what he likes to do outside of his work and travel. I also talked to him about his relationship and the support he has from his partner. I thoroughly enjoyed my talk with Mike. There is a lot to admire about him.
