There is the risk that individuals who view their work as particularly meaningful are more likely to sacrifice their self-care and can be at a higher risk of experiencing burnout. Taking a break from work (both in the form of short breaks throughout the day and longer vacations and time off) is a necessary part of preventing burnout and staying productive. In careers where there is never a convenient time to take a break or formal leave, it is especially important to plan for time off and to keep to that commitment.
