She defines overwhelm as the result of the constant battle between our unending to-do list and the finite amount of time we have to get things done: a feeling of being overburdened, stressed, and unable to cope. So what do we do about being overwhelmed? Cindy has some thoughts.Overwhelm can have a significant impact on our mental and physical health as well as on job satisfaction and our ability to achieve our goals. In time, overwhelm can lead to burnout which leads to serious consequences for both us and our workplaces. When we’re stressed and unable to cope, we can’t prioritize tasks or concentrate. Cindy outlines examples of how overwhelm can manifest in work, relationships, and goals, making it easier for us to identify. So how do we develop the necessary coping mechanisms and tools needed to combat the feeling of being overwhelmed? Cindy shares four practical tips we can implement right now: 1. Write it down, 2. Prioritize, 3. Break tasks into smaller manageable steps, and 4. Simplify our environment. Taking care of ourselves properly is part of our coping strategy so Cindy recommends key ways to support our personal wellbeing.
