Listen "Let's Not Go to the Movies"
Episode Synopsis
Do you remember the before times when people would leave their homes to do things other than going to work or get food? How people went to dinner with friends or even to the movies? Well, it seems that those times are gone, at least for the present. But what about those movies that people still want to watch? Or those that filmmakers want to produce? If people no longer go out to see movies, then what is the future of the movie-going experience? The popularity of streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+ may hold that answer.Nobody can argue that world-wide COVID-19 quarantines haven't been made easier for those who watch movies. And it was only a matter of time before movie studios, such as Disney with Mulan and Warner Bros. with Wonder Woman 1984, figured out how to not lose everything on films by simultaneously releasing them in theaters and on streaming platforms. But is how we will continue to watch new-release blockbuster movies? Listen as we talk about what we liked and what we didn't with some of the more notable big-budget films that premiered on streaming services. We also make a few predictions as to what movie fans can expect when it comes to "going to the movies." And once you have finished listening, let us know your thoughts. Do you like how things are now, or do you just really want to go and see a summer blockbuster in the theater? Tell us in the comments below, or message us on social media! Hosted on Acast.
