This recording is from a practice studio set recorded on December 1st, 2015, the day before the Ghost Ship Fire in Oakland, California where I lost 7 friends in one of the most horrific tragedies of my life that took 36 souls. I had a show in LA on that Saturday and this was my practice set I did Thursday before I went down to LA to perform. It was one of the most challenging things I've ever had to do - to perform your music after receiving such horrible news of losing friends and being barely able to comprehend and communicate. I am deeply saddened at the cumulative loss we all experienced in our close music & arts community that day and the impact that it has had on our artist and warehouse communities of the Bay Area. This set is dedicated to my friends lost and their chosen family and loved ones. It's a snapshot in time that partly captures my excitement and preparation I had done for the videogame-theme-show in LA and for the opportunity to take my music on the road.
Rest in Peace: Joey, Jason, Chelsea, Micah, Chase, Kiyomi, and Billy. I miss you so much.
