Episode Synopsis "Stereotype"

Hi everyone, My name is Hanna. I’m a hight school Student. Today we will talk about the stereotype.Stereotypes are people's general views of a class of people, which have both positive and negative sides. Stereotypes save time and energy in the process of exploring a class of people, and help people cope with complex environments. But not everyone conforms to a consistent stereotype, and it often causes individual differences. Stereotypes can hurt some people and prevent them from being evaluated correctly. In response to my partner’s question about stereotypes, here are my thoughts: 1. Do people ever stereotype you? What stereotypes do people have about you? Yes, people have stereotyped me. At that time, I graduated from junior high school, and I dyed my hair during the holidays. But my relatives always look at me with strange eyes, and they told me and my mother that hair should not be dyed at such a young age. People who dye their hair are people of bad character. 2. How did you feel when you were stereotyped? How did you respond? Their words made me feel very uncomfortable. There is a feeling of helplessness. I tried to explain to them that not all people who dye their hair are misbehaving. But this does not change their thinking. 3. How accurate do you think these stereotypes are? Have you tried to break out of these stereotypes or have you tried to reinforce them? Stereotypes may represent some people, but it can never represent everyone. I did not change my hair color because of other people's prejudices. I try to use my behavior to break people's stereotypes about dyeing hair. 4. Have you ever stereotyped other people? What stereotypes did you have about them? How did they feel? Yes, I have had a prejudice against people with tattoos. I think they are rebellious and rude. Many people with tattoos have encountered such prejudice. But now I find that they have tattoos because of hobbies. 5. Are stereotypes ever appropriate? How do they affect our understanding of the world and of other people? For now, I think stereotypes are not appropriate. Stereotypes are often partial. Stereotypes may make us view the world and other people one-sidedly. 6. What can we do as individuals and as a society to make sure that stereotypes are not used to hurt people and spread prejudice? When we look at a person or an event with stereotypes, we must also consider individual differences. Don't look at other people with prejudice. We should break the stereotype and look at the world with dialectical thinking. The above is my experience and views on stereotypes. I appeal to everyone not to look at the world with prejudice. If you break the stereotype, you will see a better side of the world. This concludes today's content, thank you for listening.
