No One Revolts

Between bread and the circus
Who's gonna revolt
Who's gonna be the first
To sow the wounds with salt

This country
Is drunk on
Its own reflection
A machine
That doesn't stop
Even as the gears grind bone
Everyone knows
It's broken
But no one wants to look up close
Because if you see
It clearly
You can't pretend it's fine

The fire is out there smoldering
But most of us never notice a thing
Dopamine on tap
Filling our minds with unattainable dreams

This country
