The End
I can't make sense of it anymore
The world is not the same
People lost their humanity
The ocean's always angry
The sun leans in
Shadows move without bodies
Whispers fall heavier than screams
No sound remains
Only the hum of an ending
A silence so sharp
It cuts through thought
I open my eyes
But there is no I
Only the echo of something that used to be
And the echo whispers
This was always how it was gonna be
The sky slips its skin
Revealing veins of static
And colors that shouldn't exist
Mountains melt into rivers that flow upwards
Cities fold like paper
Swallowed by the void
Language collapses
Words unravel
Mid sentence
No sound remains
Only the hum of an ending
A silence so sharp
It cuts through thought
I open my eyes
But there is no I
Only the echo of something that used to be
And the echo whispers
This was always how it was gonna be
I reach for my hand
But it isn't mine anymore
Fingers stretch like shadows
Graspin' at nothing
Graspin' at everything
And still the sun leans closer
And closer until the world screams in light
And then there is
No world at all
No sound remains
Only the hum of an ending
A silence so sharp
It cuts right through thought
I open my eyes
But there is no I
Only the echo of something that used to be
And the echo whispers
This was always how it was gonna be
