Listen "The Cost For John"
Episode Synopsis
Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten Season. Lent is a time where we ponder our mortality, brokenness, and sinfulness. We do this to be freshly reminded of our need for God's redemption.
Lent prepares us for Easter by making us deeply mindful of the need for Jesus to save us. Because of this, Lent is known as a period of "bright sadness."
Just as the dark days of winter give way to the increased sunniness of spring, so too does the mess of our condition as broken people give way to something new and beautiful in Jesus.
To help you enter into Lent well, we are having an Ash Wednesday worship service. This online service will be contemplative in nature, and we will devote time to song, prayer, and a reflection on the purpose and promise of keeping Lent.
