Legendary squash coach Rob Owen sits down with me today to discuss all things squash. Rob is the coach of World No. 1 player Paul Coll from New Zealand. He coached Paul to be the first ever Kiwi World No. 1 squash player. In the show we discuss Paul's immaculate win at the 2022 British Open, The Wimbledon of squash, without dropping even a single game!! Quite incredible. Rob also works with a wide range of players such as Sarah-Jane Perry, Jasmine Hutton, Charlie Lee, Jonah Bryant and Dimitri Steinmann to name but a few and is one of the hottest properties in squash right now. Rob is also a professional gambler and we discuss the mindset of this and what it takes. How he takes this mindset for his gambling career and how he is able to reinterpret it into the sporting domain and use with his players. Simplicity and spotting patterns is the key. Rob has an awesome and unique way of looking at the game and we go deep into his philosophies around what makes a champion squash player as well as the mindset involved to get to the very top.
