Listen "8. Douglas Wood"
Episode Synopsis
In this week's episode, we were joined by Douglas Wood, the Renaissance Triathlete.
Doug grew up as a competitive runner and orienteerer before switching to the sport of triathlon in his 50s. Since then, Doug has completed over 100 triathlons across 17 countries and 4 different continents and has represented the GB age-group team on multiple occasions.
Not only is Doug an incredibly successful athlete, but during the 2020 lockdown, Doug also became a published author. "Renaissance Triathlete," tells the tale of Doug's journey in triathlon and provides lots of information on staying sport well into your older years... and even has a foreword written by Alastair Brownlee.
In today's episode, Doug spoke to us about all things mental strength training, his journey through sport, switching sports in his 50s and the importance of having goals. Tune in to this week's episode to hear more about Doug's Sporting Routes.
