Chief Master Sergeant James Pope is the acting CommandChief of the 316th Wing at Joint Base Andrews-Naval AirFacility Washington, Maryland. In this role, he advises thecommander on all enlisted matters and on issues regardingthe welfare, readiness, utilization, morale, and quality of life forpersonnel across five wings, three headquarters, and over 80tenant organizations, as well as 60,000 military and civilianAirmen, and families in the National Capital Region andaround the world. The 316th Wing supports contingencyoperations in our nation’s capital with immediate responserotary wing assets. It also provides security for the world’shighest visibility flight line and is responsible for operations ofthe Air Force Memorial and the Air Force Chaplaincy.Chief Pope was raised as an Air Force dependent, living inseveral stateside and overseas locations, prior to entering theAir Force in 1995.
